The Australian Government's 2025 - 26 Federal Budget delivered on March 25, 2025, marks a period of stability in immigration policy ahead of the anticipated federal elections by May.

A new contract with Secured Journeys Pty Ltd will complement existing services by Serco, ensuring continued support and management of immigration detention. The government has also committed funding for resettlement in Nauru for individuals released from Australia's detention who cannot remain in the country.
